Thanks Monte; just to show that I am trying to do my part to make the Forum a better place, if only for one day, here's my post from far below, and it goes without saying, no response:

"OK, skies, I'll make a bargain with you, if you're at all interested...I promise not to use profanity in any post exchange with you (actually, have I ever done so? I don't think I have ever used any such words except to proclaim joy or excitment and such), deal? We can talk about 68 or 70 or 71, or any other early era show you'd like to...of course, I am limited in that my interests these days are focused on the early era, but if have any questions or comments about any show from 65 to 71, I'd love (really!) to talk about them, exchange ideas and recommendations...if you can overcome/overlook my crimes (which I assume are ones of failing to moderate the behavior of the likes of CLIFF, BD and Rob, and ones I admit guilt to, though as has been pointed out, "moderating" just isn't something they do "here" and as I keep saying, if I thought my commenting on anyone's post here would make the slightest impression I wouldn't have given it up a few yrs back...trust me, it doesn't work, but you probably already know that).

With all its faults, you, or anyone, can make all the diff in the world by just sticking to discussions about the DEAD, just like Healy suggested...so, what do you say? Lets both make the Forum better for one day with a nice exchange about 10-12-68 or 4-6-69 or even 6-17-75 (since I was there)...If anyone disrupts it with foul language, we'll ignore it, following the good advice of Grendel and LiA (do I get any points for the fact that Grendel and I are both "gandi's"? we really do share world views...).

If you'd rather not, the least you could do is refrain from dragging me into it every time someone here upsets you--I don't have any power over any of that..."

Silly Tell... It's all your fault, everything is your fault!!! Why deny it? You and you alone are to blame!!! Should I say "fuck" now???

10/12/68 does sound like a very good idea right now though...

:)

Hey, I got the groveling out of my system...it's all "up" from here, right? Prime Ministers must be responsive to their constituency, right? Nonetheless, I am still waiting to be "welcomed" back into the Forum fold...may I take your note as a first effort in this regard?

If I may offer some constructive criticism, i think you are over-reacting. Some joker comes in with his first post and criticizes people for hijacking threads yet offers nothing of value and then another individual who, while probably not a troll has not offered much in the way of substance around here expresses concerns about the un-PC language and you are going to change your behavior? Don't be silly. I could understand the self-reflection if this came from someone here that you respect or even think is a friend. But not these two. Besides go back and look at what the word police has written in the past, it's not all pretty either.

So my advice is to not change a thing. Well except possibly venturing past '71 on occasion. At least to '74....

I love how all these 'other people's' posts are always modified by deadski, regardless of the Poster's name.

I know, I know...but you know politics: get out ahead of any and all accusations and criticism...never works to ignore it hope it goes away, right? Don't worry though--over-reaction is my bread and butter, and in the end, I am not overly concerned, given the support of you and few other valued Forumites. Thanks for that, and whatever you do, don't let your wife find out that I have fallen from grace; I'd like to think she still finds me mildy amusing and possibly even "charming"...as opposed to "oh yeah, I am taking away your internet cause that Tell friend of yours turned out to be some kind of sexual PREVERT and was banned!?"
